Directors at EWG

  • Anna - Team Manager and Board of Directors

Hi, my name is Anna and I am the founder of EWG. I have worked in Psychology and Counselling for over 15 years working in an integrated approach with a focus on relationship and family counselling.

Over the years I have been involved in the private sector as well as charities offering in person and remote options for counselling. Through my experience I began to realise the amount of individuals who were either unable to access support, who couldn’t afford private options or who were finding the waiting lists for free services were too long for their needs.

We therefore developed EWG to not only offer a free option but a remote and instant access space for counselling support. We are passionate about supporting our community with their mental health and relationship support needs. We do this by offering online chats through our drop in service, and providing helpful information and guidance on our support pages.

I am proud to be a member of the EWG team and of our local community.

  • Kirsty -Board of Directors

Hi, my name is Kirsty and I’m one of the directors here at EWG. I’ve worked within primary education for the last 13 years and have extensive experience of leading and delivering pastoral support to pupils and families. My education leadership and governance experience helps me in guiding EWG to meet its strategic goals. Working with wider communities has demonstrated the need for easy, free access to high quality mental health support. I’m proud to be part of a team which is enabling so many individuals to access the right support at the right time

  • Kim - Board of Directors

Hi, my name is Kim and I am proud to be a director for EWG. I work within the higher education sector. Working with students, parents and families within the education sector and wider community has provided me with the skills to help guide EWG. With my experience, and in the current climate, it has reaffirmed the need for free, high quality, focused mental health support. The pressures and strains of modern society means mental health supports needs to be adaptable and comprehensive, EWG meets this need through its variety of access options. I am excited and committed to the wonderful work carried out by the EWG team who are supporting individuals in our local communities to access required support.

EWG Counsellors

  • Julie - Face to Face Counsellor

Hi, I'm Julie - one of the counsellors at EWG and I work face to face, on-line and over the phone. I work pluralistically, which means I'm trained in all of the different approaches to counselling and hypnotherapy. As a person I love to read, walk and eat chocolate (not all at the same time!)

  • Jean - Face to Face + Webcam Counsellor

Hello, my name is Jean I’m one of the counsellors at EWG. I work face to face and online and have worked with all different age ranges who need different levels of support. I trained as a Person-Centred counsellor and support and guide clients to reach their full potential.

  • Amy - Student Counsellor

Hi, my name is Amy and I am one of the student counsellors on placement at EWG. I am going into my second year of level 4 in September 2023 and studying at Warrington and Vale Royal College. I am currently working in a residential children’s home and have done for the past 7 years, so for my end goal is having a career in Young Peoples counselling but I am looking forward to see what my future holds.

  • Joanna - Face to Face Counsellor

Hello, I'm trained in counselling, CBT, life coaching and EMDR. I'm down to earth, I love learning, and enjoy spending time with my two dogs.

I have had a wide and varied work experience over the years, which had improved my communication, understanding and knowledge of some of the difficulties people face in their lives. I have experience of supporting people face to face, online and over the phone and am able to provide therapeutic support in a creative way when required.

I am a strong believer in supporting people to improve their resilience, learning when to use acceptance, how to live in the now, build upon your own strengths and improve self-esteem.
