What We Do at EWG

How EWG Happened:

EWG was founded in 2019 in response to the real need for easy to access online counselling, and this ethos of easy to access counselling has now continued in to the in person work we also offer.

For many people in relationship crisis, experiencing anxiety and depression or struggling with anything in their situation, paying for a private counsellor isn’t possible and other mental health support may have a significant wait depending on your area.
It was our desire therefore to offer free and low cost options that are easy to access and provided support, guidance and signposting. We are passionate that every person should be able to access counselling and support.

Our Mission

Our aim is to help people to have easy access to information, advice and support. To offer short term interventions to those in relationship distress. We are from the North West and believe that our community knowledge and experience is best served in the North West of England.

We want to be able to offer low cost and free access to services, as well as developing a bank of helpful information and advice that can be accessed through our website. Whether you need a place to offload your thoughts, talk through a problem, gain some tools or interventions or want some guidance about further support we can help with a live chat. You can see more in our objectives.

Why Is support important?

◾ Many of us don’t think about mental health and wellbeing until it becomes a problem, and when it’s a problem that is often the hardest time to try and figure it out for ourselves.
◾ Using counselling can be a way of looking at your situation from a different perspective and being able to think about your feelings and experiences with the help of someone who is non judgemental and is separate to your situation.
◾ Counsellors can help you to connect with how you are feeling, to think in a different way about your problems, to think about positive change and also to give you tools to help start making these changes.

◾ Relationships are also an important part of our lives, creating connections with loved ones, family, friends and colleagues can help us to feel stronger, more supported and helps with mental and physical health.
◾ Relationships are something that we need to work on as everyone has differing expectations or desires. It is important to be able to communicate about your own needs as in some cases relationships don’t meet our expectations and we may struggle to communicate that effectively. When this happens it can be hard to find a resolution.
◾ By speaking to a professional, you can learn more about yourself while also receiving the support and guidance you may need to get back on track.
